Montana's
Sexual or Violent Offender
Registration Act is designed to protect the public from
sexual and violent offenders by requiring offenders to register with
local law enforcement agencies in the jurisdiction where they reside.
Information about these offenders is then made available to the public.
This Registry
provides an up-to-date listing of sexual and violent offenders who are
required to register their whereabouts.
Disclaimer...
The Registry,
created in 1989, is located in Helena in the Department of Justice. In
creating the Registry, the Legislature acknowledged that there is a
compelling interest in providing the public with information about people
convicted of sexual and violent offenses. This information can help citizens
protect themselves and their children from sexual and violent offenders.
History of the Registry...
